Telecaster* .... it don't mean a Thang if it aint got that Tele* TWANG
Canadian guitar tech Terry Barnett loves Kinman pickups. He says "Kinman fixes everything that is wrong with Teles”. The 3 new Gen-2 Vintage Neck pickup models, AVn-60n, AVn-48n and Impersonator 52n, have a lot in common but there are subtle but significant differences between them. The AVn-48n has the sharpest twang with the most prominent piano mid tones. The AVn-60n is one step away and has a slightly more mellow twang and slightly softer feel and is about as loud as the 48n. The Impersonator 52n is the most rounded with the mildest twang and is the loudest of the three. NEWS-1: The all new Gen-2 Broadcaster and 60's Custom set have arrived. NEWS-2: Our new Gen-2 Tele neck cover is made of Nickel-Silver for durability and has no impact on the sonic character of the pickup. It has an arched top for staggered magnets. Also does not produce buzz when touched. Buy a replacement in the Covers section of Products.

How to order: There are 3 ways to order your Kinman Tele* pickups
Fascinating story about Kinman Tele* pickups: But the massive effort in terms of time and special equipment that had to be invented and constructed was worth it in the end. These are not just Strat pickups in a different guise, these are totally new and have their own unique quintessential Telecaster character with abundant presence. The patented H-Core hum sensing bobbin consists of 150 pieces of 'H' shaped steel stampings bonded together with steel End-Caps to form a bobbin. See p[ictures above. All adjacent plates are separated by a 7 micron gap (a human hair is 75 microns) so no electrical current can flow between plates. Coils wound on this H-Core are 240% more efficient compared to the Pin-Core hum sensor of my Strat pickups. This ultra high efficiency allows the coil to me minimized making it completely transparent to the string signal which passes though it. This H-core is a world first never before seen in guitar pickups. It took me 3 years of exhaustive R&D to figure out how to manufacture this special bobbin, and now we make them every day in-house. This innovative bobbin is the secret of how I was able to create zero-hum, authentic sounding Tele pickups that retain the Period Correct appearance of the originals, with Alnico magnets and the black cotton twine coil wrap. It was also one of the keys in the development of the P-90 Hx. Anyone wondering about the value for money aspect of these products will no doubt develop a deeper appreciation after seeing this; you won't find too many pickup makers who would like to make two of these for the price I am asking, that is if they even know how to make it. UPDATE: The H-Core bobbin has been discontinued for the all new Gen-2 models circa mid 2020. Chris Kinman Click on the Tabs to the left for individual models info and the BUY buttons. Some people will call these noiseless Telecaster pickups but Kinman prefers to describe them correctly as Zero-Hum Telecaster pickups. That's because there are 2 types of noise, Hum which is cancelled in the pickup and Buzz which can only be minimized by shielding the wiring cavities (refer to >Technical >Perfect Guitar >Shielding for newer guitars Kinman reserves the right to change specifications from time to time as required for improvement or sourcing of component parts. * Fender and Telecaster and Tele are registered Trade Marks of Fender Musical Instrument Corp, Inc.
