The Gen-3 Magnum Opus sets incorporate our unique anti-TCS technology (anti-Torn Cone Syndrome technology), and are available in all models of our Strat sets including the Perfect Vintage and Texas J set. To be perfectly clear all of our Strat models are available with or without our unique anti-TCS Technology which is the basis of our Gen-3 Magnum Opus models. The normal sets don't have it.
What is that awful 'Torn Cone Syndrome' (TCS) ??? It's the shattering of the sound of the neck and middle pickups when a moderately strong pick upstroke is used on the low E6th and also to a lesser degree with the A-5th. You can hear TCS on your existing neck pickup simply by picking the open low E with a hard n sharp upstroke. I guarantee you won't like what you hear.
TCS is in-inherent in ALL single coil pickups, even P-90 and Humbuckers and have been so since magnetic guitar pickups were invented back in the early 1950's. The designers wanted an economy design with the fewest number of parts. Knowing this it's natural not to prize vintage pickups as much. Kinman burst out of this low-cost mode of thinking in 1995 with out first noiseless Strat pickups and we keep getting better every year and better again the following year.
We think that beautifully crafted guitars and our customers deserve the best pickups and definitely should not have crude, ancient designed pickups that are abundantly noisy and produce TCS.
Since the inception of magnetic guitar pickups way back in the early 1950's Guitar players have either habitually avoided inherent TCS by picking only with down-strokes -or- consciously minimizing picking force when using upstroke. Some, like Hank Marvin, used the latter but even so remnants of TCS can be heard on the old original Shadows tunes Dance On and Peace Pipe. The last word is that players no longer have to worry about and modify their playing style to contend with TCS, thanks to our unique technology.
And BTW, Kinman is the only brand that possesses this knowledge and we own the design of the unique technology which deals with TCS.

Come out of the dark ages with these technical and sonic Masterpieces. Perhaps it's a little weird that Anti-TCS can not be applied to ordinary non-noiseless vintage design pickups since it is part and parcel of our Zero-Hum design technology. That plus our many other problem solving refinements makes Kinman ......
