K5 Goodbye-Soldering Harness

5 sounds for Stratocaster* (SSS or HSS)

Use this ORDER CHANNEL only if you are buying a harness without pickups.  If you are ordering pickup(s) there is provision to include a harness (same price as displayed above) after you click the BUY button for your pickup(s).  Generally this will not increase the cost of shipping.

Harness ordered without pickups will accept non-Kinman pickups also. (Screw-Down connector block accepts bare wires as well as Kinman Harness Plugs)

Soldering is eliminated 100% with this ingenious harness even when other pickups are connected.  Provides the optimum electrical environment allowing the pickups to develop their full sonic and feel potential.

The K5 Goodbye-Soldering harness is a basic harness without additional switching functionality.   Three improvements over stock factory wiring are .....

a)  the popular switchable Hi-Definition/Normal Tone control where you can select either of 2 tone caps, the Kinman High Definition Tone cap, or a regular tone cap if you want normal extreme treble cut.

b)  the bridge pickup is connected to the lower Tone pot while the middle Tone pot serves the middle and neck pickups.  We did this because the bridge pickup, having the most treble, needs a Tone control to avoid excessive highs.  Both Tone pots are 500k No-load type (without detent). 

c)  the volume pot actually measures 250k and has the famous Kinman treble bypass filter so you won't lose highs when you turn the volume down.

d) HSS: The K5 is compatible with the new 2n1 Gen-2 splitting humbucker.  When ordered together the lower Tone pot will incorporate the Push/Push splitting switch and the humbucker will have it's desired 500k volume pot load while the Strat pickups will have their desired 250k load.  Be sure to include the 2n1 Gen-2 humbucker when ordering.

d2)  Of course the K5 can accept a non-splitting bridge humbucker too.  There is provision for that in the Ordering Channel.

e)  Kill switches can easily connect without soldering.  Get your Kill switch here

f)  Shipped with pots set to normal torque but convert easily to Easy Turn pots for easy finger rolling (violinning), the Install Guide shows how.  The Tone pot is the No-load type (without detent).  The Volume pot for Strat pickups actually measures 250K+.

When ordering any Kinman Stratocaster harness with or for a Converge-3 splitting humbucker we replace one of the existing controls with the Converge-3 splitting control, and the rotary part can be configured as a Volume control, a Tone control or a K7 Mix control while the Push switch splits the coils.  And you get to choose which control is replaced so please state your preference in the Order Notes.
