I put a pair of Twang-Buckers with the Whopper bridge model in my Baritone Strat and Dudes, these pickups are AWESOME! They are exactly what my baritone needed.  It gets used in almost every session I do now.  I am so impressed with Kinman pickups I'm going to order a pair of your Converge-3 multi-sound humbuckers.  Joey (Juno Nominated Guitarist from Toronto, Canada.)

The Twang-Bucker bridge and P90-Bucker neck is an ideal combination that can take you from jazz thru rock all the way to country with a lot of stops in between.

There is really nothing to compare these pickups with, and the swamp ash body and mahogany neck of my custom SG
 makes them sing.

Thanks for
your great products that make great sounds that we haven't heard before.

I have a PRS SE Semi-Custom as a backup - great little guitar - but no matter what I tried in the bridge it just didnt sound right .... I eventually settled on a Dimarzio 36th Anniv PAF (mine is ~6.4k) .... seriously great sounding pickup ......

So why did I try
 the Kinman ?

As great as the PAF Dimarzio 36th Anniv PAF is, like all great h/b's, it too suffers from the ususal HB ailments .....

- loose low end
- overly muddy mids
- lacked a bit of crispness in the highs

Spoke to my trusty tech ...... explained the above ..... he told me to buy the Kinman Twang Bucker ... I did ... I put it in ..... and
I couldnt sell my Dim PAF quick enough ...

In short:-

- mine comes in at ~ 8.9 k installed
- as always - no hum - no noise - even with ultra-high-gain tones in my Axe and Kemper
- does everything my Dim Paf did but it really does have " piano string lows " ..... no "murky" mids .... and a nice
chimey high end
-
its freakin redonkulous .... serioulsy ....
-dont let the higher k rating put you off ... it has all the girth of my Dim PAF but its not gainier ... its just clearer and punchier .... but all in a good musical way ... not in a sterile way
- truthfully it sounds like
a fantasic SC and a great P90 had a baby

If you love your PAF style HB but you too have the above issues too ....... but
you dont want a hotter / gainier / dirtier pickup ....... this is the answer

Unexpected bonus ......... looks cool too .....  Ben

I have the twangbucker-whopper in the bridge position of my thinline tele, and I can't say I've ever heard a pickup like it. It's incredibly bright, and therefore responds very well to the tone knob.

It's very twangy on the lowest strings, yet a little more subtle on the highest. The effect that this gives is that all strings are pretty much balanced in brightness whereas normally the plain strings are a lot brighter than the wounds. This gives it a very unexpected quality: It is a killer pickup to shred on! It's good for the stuff you'd expect a twangy pickup to do, like country, blues, and classic rock, but don't shy away from putting some drive on this thing, it will drop your jaw.

I have it together with the 580 soapbar in the neck position, and both series and
parralel position sound fantastic. It's a bit less audible than the 580 in the combined postition (but this is the balance I chose to adjust my pickups to).

The sharp twang combined with the piano tones on the low wounds gives a ridiculously bouncy and spanky low end, that still retains a lot of fatness.

All in all, this pickup is a bit of an oddball, but man am I glad I bought it. Very versatile and surprising.

Dudes. These pickups are AWESOME! They are exactly what my baritone needed. Thanks again, and once again these pickups are awesome!!

Dave

My Twangbuckers are excellent. They have an amazingly rich, clear and clean sound. My wife (who's not a guitarist) even commented on how clear they are, and what a great sound they have. I took a bit of a risk making a first time purchase from Kinman, based solely on the text description on your site, but it paid off. You guys should consider putting a Twangbucker sound file on your site. The guitar playing public needs to know about these pickups! :) So I'd like to thank you for your help and for making fantastic pickups. I'll have to save my pennies to get a set for my strat next... Regards, Dave

Hello Chris, I want to applaud you for your Twangbucker. It is an awesome pickup. In the neck of my Tele it sounds better than a Strat. It produces crystal clear tops and ballsy bottoms. This is a pickup that gives me the sounds that I want. I have always liked the TV Jones Classics because they give a full body sound and this pickup does that but with much more articulation on ALL strings (the low wounds as well as the middles and plains). Anyway I will order the Bridge Blaster to keep it all Kinman. Cheers,
