Impersonator Fat 50 Pickups

Thank you for the SRV set (3x Impersonator E56). This set has a very unique sound. Just the right amount of sparkle, thwack, upper mids, and not too much low end. All string response including the plain are even and balanced. They are bright and vintage at the same time. I don't believe it's the guitar, it's the unique sound of the pickups. The SRV set is exactly the sound in my head for this particular guitar. It was what I call a wild-ass educated guess. They are unique to my ear in that they have the things I like in a vintage tone with out the things I don't care for like the clanky crashing sound many true 52 / 54 vintage Fender pick ups have. The only other thing I'll ad is that to my ears I call them "Modern Vintage". The JBE/Barden strat pickups which I also use have a "Modern" sound. I find both sets useful, and use both for different things with the JBE being big and bold.

I bought your SRV set with three Impersonator Fat 50’s. These are the pickups your mother warned you about! Beautifully noiseless of course and with gain to spare. The SRV set transformed my Strat into a snarling Texas beast and made me feel I was channeling the late and great man himself. I can’t play anything like SRV but I can now sound like him. I love the way the pickups breakup early when even mildly driven but still retain a clarity of sound that carries the signature Strat sound. Quite remarkable really.

I am very, very happy with your Impersonator E56 pickups. What a sweet sound. The perfect set for clean playing, IMO. My Fender PRRI loves them. Thank you for the helpful multi-message correspondence and the great, fast service.

I just wanted to say I installed the new Fat 50s in my 72 strat. I am shocked how quiet they are. They have a great thick tone along with a good twang. They are a ton more responsive dynamically compared to my old pickups. So far so good! Thanks for your help.
