Functions of the Kinman Tele TK9 switching system.


  • Table displays normal 3 pickup Tele switching function.
  • Table displays the pickup selection with the neck pickup Mix pot at maximum mix on ‘1’. Note the extremely useful additional combinations of Bridge + Middle in Series (Red) for humbucking fat crunch with possible Neck in parallel for a hollow crunch tone, displayed in Red.
Selector position K7 mix pot is OFF at 10 on the scale Blue indicates the pickup selected. This is normal 3 pickup switching.
K7 mix pot is the second control besides the Volume pot.
K7 mix pot is at rest on 10.

  • This table displays the pickup selection with the K7 mix pot operating the neck pickup at maximum mix. Note the extremely useful additional combinations of Series and Series/Parallel connections in the 2nd bottom box facilitated by the K9 switch and K7 pot. This gives the Tele the ultimate versatility with simplicity.
Selector position K7 mix pot at full mix, at '1' on scale. Purple indicates this pickups can be mixed in gradually by rolling the K7 Mix pot down to '1'.
Blue indicates pickup is switched on fully.
K7 mix pot is the lower control
Pos 4 & 5 No effect

Position 3
Position 2 K9 switch is UP Neck can be mixed with the Middle, from zero to full.
Position 2 K9 switch is DOWN With the K9 switch 'DOWN' the bridge and middle are in Series for crunch (Red). The neck can be mixed in Parallel by turning the K7 pot to '1' giving a hollow crunch sound.
Position 1 Neck can be mixed with the bridge from zero to full. This sound is like a regular Tele in the middle position.
